RPM Environmental Policy
RPM is fully committed to meeting our clients’ needs in a manner consistent with a clean environment and minimal carbon footprint. We believe it is both good business practice and our duty to protect the resources of the communities that we serve. In keeping with this belief, it is our policy to conduct our business in an environmentally responsible manner that protects the public, our employees, and our clients.
We commit to:
• Make environmental concerns a part of our planning and decision making process and commit sufficient resources to implement effective environmental programs
• Educate employees to be accountable for recycling as much as possible and encourage them to seek innovative ways to improve the environmental impacts of our company
• Continually improve our environmental programs
• Ensure the proper handling and disposal of all wastes while pursuing opportunities to prevent pollution and recycle and reuse waste materials
• Locating our offices near mass transit centers and accommodating mass transit schedules in our work schedules
We currently have recycling bins throughout the offices, as paper is our largest area of environmental impact. We have gone to a paperless environment on our collection floors, with just whiteboards at rep stations.
RPM also has a general protocol of only printing documentation when necessary. This includes when completing audits, as well as requests for proposals and client reporting. RPM has also instituted a process in which we ask for and utilize email in all cases when contact is made with consumers for account information. This process is only utilized when allowed by our clientele.
Finally, RPM has a number of steps we take within the physical facility to reduce consumption. This includes powering down collection floors technology such as the terminals we utilize, as well as the televisions used for employee communication and we now turn off lights throughout the buildings at night.
